Healthzilla Selected to Expara VirTech Global Accelerator
On March 31st, 2020, Singapore-based venture capital company Expara opened up applications to its fully online acceleration program – Expara VirTech Global Accelerator – with an exclusive focus on the economic and social challenges posed by COVID-19. Around 300 startups applied from all continents except for Antarctica, and after 2 rounds of screening and pitching the 16 most promising startups were selected to the program.
Singaporean health tech company Healthzilla made it to the top 16 and was proud to present their solution at the Launch Event on June 16th to the Expara team and experts, other participating startups, and 115 supporting partners Expara has secured for the program. “We’re thrilled to join the program,” says Niko Ratala, CFO of Healthzilla. “The networking opportunities and exposure to potential customers, partners, and investors will strengthen our business in Southeast Asia,” he concludes.
About Expara VirTech Global Accelerator
Expara, a Singapore-based venture capital firm, has launched an acceleration programme, Expara VirTech Global Accelerator, which is dedicated to entrepreneurs and startups who are developing products and services to help address the pain, problems and economic and societal distruption caused by COVID-19 and potential future pandemics. The three-month program accepted 16 companies and will provide up to $50,000 per team in funding. The program was named ‘VirTech’ to coin a new term for technologies and solutions that align directly with current or future virus outbreaks.
